Rick focuses his practice on representing physicians, dentists and other health care professionals, along with a variety of health care and closely held businesses in connection with corporate, transactional and health care matters.
Rick’s experience working with health care professionals and businesses extends to structuring group practices, joint ventures, medical device companies, and physician networks, as well as any related entities such as imaging centers and ambulatory surgery centers. He represents health care clients in various corporate and transactional matters, including practice acquisitions and managed care, clinical integration, billing, employment and independent contractor arrangements, as well as agreements with hospitals and other facilities. Rick counsels health care clients on fraud and abuse, health information technology (HIT) and compliance, including the Stark II physician self-referral law, the Medicare/Medicaid anti-kickback law, corporate practice and fee-splitting restrictions, antitrust, health information privacy and security (HIPAA and HITECH Act), and health care reimbursement.
