The sources for such data as conversion factors, average electricity usage of commercial buildings, and grid-intensity figures are provided by the US Energy Information Administration, the US Environmental Protection Agency, and other internationally recognized sources.

Although this calculator has the potential to be a reasonable approximation of an organization's footprint, McDonald Hopkins cannot provide any statement attesting to the completeness or accuracy of the final footprint.
