Public Finance
Our public finance attorneys have experience in all types of financing transactions involving public entities, including taxable and tax-exempt financing transactions for both not-for-profit and for-profit projects. We have also represented numerous government agencies including cities, counties, state government, and port authorities. Our attorneys have been involved in transactions and projects related to housing authorities, school districts and other special purpose districts. We have served as counsel to underwriters, placement agents, borrowers, lenders, letter of credit providers, and fiduciaries in all types of taxable and tax-exempt bond transactions, as well as state and local economic incentive and development programs.
Our experience ranges from general obligation bond and note offerings to complex, multi-layered development projects involving public and private sector partnerships. We have represented a variety of non-government public finance clients, including cultural institutions, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and private companies in conduit borrowings for real estate acquisition, renovation and capital equipment purchases.
As a multi-disciplinary practice, we regularly call upon our attorneys with expertise in commercial finance, federal and state tax, securities, real estate, environmental, government affairs, and other areas to assist our public finance clients in transactions involving infrastructure improvement, economic development, location of facilities, housing development, and public and public/private partnership project development.
Some of our attorneys have served as public officials in state, county and city government, and include former investment bankers, and accountants.
