Receivership

Our National Receivership Practice includes distinguished attorneys with a wealth of practical experience in administrative, state and federal receivership proceedings. We represent claimants, receivers and owners in a broad range of legal matters.

Our legal team recognizes the value that receivership can offer to government enforcement agencies as well as to organizations and individuals. Our attorneys have received numerous court appointments as receivers, special magistrates, special masters, and mediators in a number of significant matters. In these capacities we have revived businesses from financial collapse, controlled business operations, established profitable operating practices, and protected creditors. In addition, we have developed efficient and effective claims distribution measures and operated business receiverships during the sale of a business.

The depth of our extensive domestic and international receivership experience has resulted in the successful recovery of significant assets for creditors, investors and consumers in the areas of:

  • Investment instruments
  • Foreclosure of assets
  • Commercial real estate
  • FTC fraud
  • SEC fraud

To support our fiduciary duties, we have assembled an experienced group of real estate and management professionals, forensic accountants and financial analysts.

Our attorneys also have experience representing receivers in numerous real property and complex commercial receivership matters including receiverships over condominium/hotels, commercial office buildings, residential condominiums, and various businesses. We have served as receivers’ counsel in all phases of real estate and commercial receiverships, such as administration, asset protection, forensic investigation, and litigation.

Jorge J. Perez is chair of our National Receivership Practice. A respected former Circuit Court Judge who was appointed to the bench by Governor Jeb Bush, Jorge brings a wealth of knowledge to our clients. He specializes in receiverships, fiduciary appointments, mediation, arbitration, and general commercial litigation matters.
