Crain's Chicago selects David Agay to 2021 list of Notable Gen X Leaders

CHICAGO – McDonald Hopkins Chicago Managing Member David Agay has been selected by Crain's Chicago Business to its 2021 list of Notable Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting and Law.

According to Crain's Judith Crown and Lisa Bertagnoli, the 2021 list recognizes Chicago-area leaders who "are at the peak of their careers, managing offices, chairing legal groups or running their own lucrative practices. The attorneys run the range of specialties, from capital markets to affordable housing. There are M&A lawyers leading megadeals and those shepherding transactions to build affordable housing. Some are pioneering young practice areas such as cannabis or niche real estate areas like tech incubators."

Nominations for 2021 honorees were considered by Crain's editorial team, which selected only those born between 1965 and 1980 who "have shown the ability or power to effect change and have assumed a leadership position outside their organization."

In addition to his role as managing member of McDonald Hopkins' Chicago office, Agay is co-chair of the firm's Business Restructuring Department. He also serves on the firm’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Agay represents public and private companies, strategic and financial investors, directors, officers, lenders, committees, and shareholders in a variety of distress and non-distress engagements. He regularly counsels clients in: financing and M&A transactions; free-fall, pre-negotiated and involuntary Chapter 11 and 7 bankruptcies; cross-border matters; out-of-court exchanges and balance sheet restructurings; and other corporate reorganization and insolvency proceedings.
