Overview

Jake is a Member in the firm’s Business Department and Commercial Finance Practice Group. He focuses his practice on commercial finance and general business counseling.

Jake has experience assisting in the representation of national and local lenders and borrowers in a variety of transactions including: asset-based finance transactions; syndicated loan transactions; structured and mezzanine finance transactions; floor plan lending; ESOP loans; Export-Import Bank loans; and real estate acquisition, development and construction loan transactions. He is licensed to practice law in Florida and Ohio.

Jake earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. He received a B.S., magna cum laude, from The Ohio State University.

Representative Cases & Matters

Represented a national banking association in connection with a $35,000,000 asset-based revolving line of credit provided to a supply chain and technology integrator for the U.S. military involving the assignment of several government contracts through the Federal Assignment of Claims Act.

Represented a national banking association in connection with a $40,000,000 asset-based revolving line of credit provided to a bourbon company involving complex issues dealing with liquor and IP licenses.

Represented a national banking association in connection with a $30,000,000 asset-based revolving line of credit provided to a wholesale distributor of concessions products involving complex issues dealing with Tribal Nations.

Represented a national banking association in connection with a syndicated $150,000,000 asset-based revolving line of credit provided to a platform of action sports brands. The credit facility included various secured credit lines issued to loan parties in the United States and several foreign countries, as well as the negotiation of complex and sensitive inter-creditor issues in connection with the issuance of a $200,000,000 term loan note.

Represented a national banking association in connection with a $140,000,000 revolving line of credit used to facilitate the acquisition of a metals provider. The credit facility included the negotiation of complex subordination issues in connection with the borrower’s line of credit in Mexico.
