Systems Engineer
McDonald Hopkins is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Information Technology team, working out of our Cleveland office.
Responsibilities include working alongside other McDonald Hopkins Systems Engineers in the following areas:
- Designing, installing, and maintaining the overall IT infrastructure in support of both project driven and operational initiatives
- Researching and recommending innovative (and where possible, automated) approaches for system administration tasks
- Maintaining awareness of current security threats and taking steps to mitigate vulnerabilities as needed
- Performing regular system monitoring, including verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
- Performing patch management for operating systems and applications across server, network, storage and desktop environments
- Monitoring daily backup operations to ensure the integrity of backups across all systems
- Creating and testing disaster recovery plans
- Serving as an escalation point for Desktop Support Team
Qualified individuals will possess skills/experience in a majority of the following areas
- Core Microsoft technologies, including Window Server 2012 R2 and newer, Windows 10, Office 2016 or newer, Active Directory, Group Policy, DFS, DHCP and DNS
- VMware vSphere and vCenter 6.5 or newer
- Citrix XenApp/Virtual Apps and Desktops 7.x or newer
- Exchange 2013 or newer
- Cisco routing and switching
- Palo Alto Firewalls
- PowerShell scripting
- Fiber channel SANs
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or newer
