McDonald Hopkins welcomes tax attorney Michael M. Antovski as a member in Detroit office

DETROIT — Michael M. Antovski has joined the Detroit office of McDonald Hopkins LLC as a member in the Tax and Benefits Department. Antovski comes to McDonald Hopkins from Bodman PLC in Detroit where he served as the lead tax partner on merger and acquisitions matters and corporate restructuring.

“Michael’s expertise in federal, state and local income tax enhances our tax team and McDonald Hopkins’ ability as a whole to better serve our clients,” said Jeffrey Consolo, chair of the firm’s Tax and Benefits Department and a member of the Board of Directors. “We are excited to have an attorney with Michael’s experience join us as a new member in Detroit.”

Antovski concentrates his practice on representing business clients, including corporations, LLCs and partnerships in matters involving tax planning, acquisitions and dispositions, and general corporate law. He has been invited to speak to various professional groups and contributed to the institute of Continuing Legal Education on topics involving tax planning and corporate law. 

A 2018 selection to DBusiness Magazine’s “Top Lawyers” list in Tax Law, Antovski served as chair of the Taxation Section of the State Bar of Michigan from 2015-16 and two terms as chair of the Oakland County Bar Association Tax Committee from 2008-09 and 2009-10.

He earned an LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in 2000 and his J.D. from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1997. He received a B.A. in accounting in 1993 from Michigan State University.
