CLEVELAND - McDonald Hopkins member Teresa Metcalf Beasley has been selected to serve on the transition team for Cleveland Mayor-Elect Justin Bibb.

In a December 1 press release, the mayor-elect named 75 “emerging and experienced leaders to serve on his transition team’s 10 sub-committees and task force. The members represent the diversity of our city and include residents, academics, business and faith leaders, healthcare professionals, and nonprofit leaders."

Beasley, who is chair of McDonald Hopkins’ Public Law Practice Group, will serve on the mayor’s Operations Task Force.

“I am humbled and excited to be a part of this transformation in Cleveland,” said Beasley. “Along with Mayor Bibb, we will have several new people moving into leadership positions within the city in 2022, and they are bringing a new energy with them. There is a sense of urgency that is also being created by that energy, and I am seeing people coming together and engaged to move the city forward.”

Bibb defeated Cleveland City Council President Kevin Kelley in November, receiving 62 percent of the vote. In January, he will be sworn in as the 58th mayor of Cleveland.

“I’m proud of the talented team of proven leaders that are working together to deliver actionable recommendations for my administration,” Bibb said in the December 1 press release. "The work we are putting in now will prepare us to hit the ground running in January.”
