McDonald Hopkins helps Sylmar Group build a unique industrial water platform through ProChem acquisition
McDonald Hopkins is proud to have served as legal counsel to Sylmar Group, an industry leader in the industrial water services sector, in its acquisition of ProChem Inc., a Virginia-based industrial and commercial water and wastewater treatment business. ProChem will become part of the Sylmar Water Treatment family of companies - joining EAI Water, Clearwater Industries, R2J Chemical Services, and Eastern Technologies Inc. - as Sylmar continues to grow its leading nationwide network of local, technical, and customer-focused water treatment providers.
Samuel J. Tallman served as lead counsel to Sylmar Group along with support from attorneys Laura Sims and Adam Grais.
This acquisition will allow Sylmar to pair ProChem’s deep technical, engineering, and fabrication expertise with the field experience, service, and chemical blending capabilities of its existing operating companies—creating a vertically integrated platform focused on providing innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective water treatment technologies to clients nationwide.
“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with the ProChem team. They have spent decades building trust with their customers through innovative problem-solving and integrity,” said Michael Warady, President of Sylmar Group. “Our team of attorneys at McDonald Hopkins provided steady, invaluable counsel throughout this process. They understood our goals and, ultimately, the vision. The combination of ProChem’s water reuse capabilities with Sylmar’s national network of service businesses creates a truly unique platform in industrial water.”
