McDonald Hopkins welcomes Jessi Ziska to Litigation Department in Cleveland

CLEVELAND — Jessi Ziska has joined McDonald Hopkins LLC, a business advisory and advocacy law firm, where she is an associate in the Litigation Department’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. 

Ziska’s practice focuses on providing guidance and insight on all areas of labor and employment law to both private and public sector employers. This includes developing litigation strategy, counseling employers on employee relations matters, and representing clients before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Ziska represents clients on matters that include claims of wrongful discharge, discrimination, workplace harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, unfair labor practice, and wage and hour claims. She also has experience drafting, reviewing and providing guidance on various employment documents, including employee handbooks, policies and procedures, and non-compete, severance, separation, and independent contractor agreements. Ziska was recently selected to the 2023 Ohio Rising Stars List.

At McDonald Hopkins, Ziska joins a national team of labor and employment attorneys who counsel management in all aspects of employment and labor law matters—from practice before state and federal agencies to state and federal trial work, and from advice and counsel regarding individual employee issues to assistance in significant strategic decisions.

Ziska earned her J.D., along with a certificate in Health Law and Litigation (Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution) from the University of Akron School of Law. While in law school, she was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award and the Best Advocate Award from the Ohio Attorney General’s Public Service Mock Trial Competition. Ziska earned her Bachelor of Arts in sociology and psychology from the University of Akron.
