Overview
Sanjana is an Associate in the Litigation Department at McDonald Hopkins and part of the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity team. She has experience advising clients through complex U.S. and international data privacy laws and interpreting the myriad of state and federal laws governing data breach response. In her practice, Sanjana assists clients with ransomware, phishing attacks, business email compromises, and any other privacy and cybersecurity concerns that arise in a wide variety of industries, including misdirected funds incidents, in the education, government, finance, publishing, and industrial sectors, while also working proactively with clients to develop and implement risk management processes and data security measures. She also works to ensure companies remain in compliance with international, federal and state data privacy laws, including the CCPA, HIPAA, and GDPR. Additionally, Sanjana works with forensics investigators, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to guide clients through incident response and regulatory inquiries. Sanjana also has experience drafting risk assessments, privacy policies, and communication guidelines for clients.
Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, Sanjana practiced data privacy at a large national firm. She has additional industry experience providing in-house litigation and commercial transactions counsel at a publishing company.
Sanjana earned her J.D. from University of Miami School of Law and was a Dean’s Merit Scholar as well as being selected as her graduating class commencement speaker. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at The University of Texas at Austin.
