Overview

Hannah is an Associate in McDonald Hopkins’ Litigation Department and a part of the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Team. She focuses her practice on helping clients proactively manage personal, sensitive and confidential information to minimize the risk of a data privacy incident. She also counsels clients on efficient and effective incident response service. Additionally, Hannah ensures compliance on the ever-evolving state, federal and international privacy and breach notification laws.

During law school, Hannah gained valuable experience working with large in-house technology companies, health and degenerative disease research laboratories, and several advertising technology and privacy-focused think-tanks across the U.S. as well as European law firms. Notably, she completed a legal externship at a major California tech company, where she researched privacy regimes and ensured compliance with the privacy laws of various countries, including countries within the EU, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and others. She also worked as a Summer Associate at a biomedical research facility, supporting the development of their Business Continuity Plan Program, ensuring GDPR human research compliance, and conducting legal research on privacy laws.

Hannah further contributed at the Maine State Legislature, where she supported privacy-specific legislation. Additionally, she worked as a law clerk at McDonald Hopkins, where she ultimately returned to build her legal practice.

Hannah received her Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law, where she graduated with an Information Privacy Certificate, the Edward S. Godfrey Leadership Award, and a CIPP/US certification
