Overview

Jane Pine Wood serves as Counsel in McDonald Hopkins' national Healthcare Practice Group. She has 37 years of experience representing clinical and anatomic laboratories, hospitals, health systems, physicians, imaging centers, home health agencies, mental health providers, clinics, other healthcare providers, and professional societies in corporate, regulatory, reimbursement, contractual, and other matters. 

Jane was previously a Member at McDonald Hopkins, and returned to the firm in 2024 after serving for almost eight years as Chief Legal Counsel for BioReference Health, LLC, the fourth largest laboratory in the United States. She was recruited to this executive leadership role to establish the Legal and Compliance Departments and serve on the Executive Committee. In addition to her Chief Legal Counsel role, Jane served as Chief Compliance Officer from 2016 to 2017, served as head of the Payer Relations Department from 2016 through 2018, and then reassumed leadership of the department in January 2023. During her time at BioReference Health, Jane oversaw a pandemic expansion from approximately 4,000 employees to over 8,000 employees, as well as post-pandemic repositioning. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was responsible for the negotiation of approximately 1,000 COVID-19 testing contracts, including contracts to provide testing for the State New York, the State of New Jersey, the cities of New York, Houston and Miami, Miami-Dade County, the NFL, the NBA, the WNBA, MLS, MLB, PGA and the U.S. Olympics.

During her original time at McDonald Hopkins, Jane served on the firm's Board of Directors and was instrumental in building one of the largest laboratory and pathology client bases in the nation. She also previously served as an associate attorney at a Nashville-based law firm and was a member of the Board of Directors of Emmaus Medical, Inc. from 2020 to 2022.
