Overview

Jack Spencer is an Associate in McDonald Hopkins’ Strategic Advisory and Restructuring Department. His practice focuses on complex bankruptcy and strategic advisory matters for clients in a variety of industries, including real estate, energy, finance, and retail. Jack has experience representing debtors, creditors and official committees of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, as well as experience representing creditors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings and bringing adversary proceedings and confirmation objections on behalf of lenders. His practice also includes experience advising on commercial litigation and real estate litigation matters.

Jack earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi.

  • Represented future asbestos claimants’ representative in mass tort bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Defended former executives in fraudulent transfer litigation.
  • Represented directors and officers in chapter 11 proceedings.
  • Argued before North Carolina Court of Appeals on behalf of client in automotive industry.
  • Represented client in preference action. 
  • Represented commercial landlords in bankruptcy proceedings.
