Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants: New Laws and Role of Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in Nursing Facilities
Isabelle Bibet-Kalinyak, JD, MBA, McDonald Hopkins; Nicole Coniglio, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, ACNPBC, Psych360

Join Isabelle and Nicole, Friday, September 9 from 1:15 - 2:45 p.m. as they discuss new laws and role of psych/mental health nurse practitioners in nursing facilities. Nurse practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) play an increasingly important role in the care of nursing home residents as physicians become less accessible. Facilities that understand the key differences between NPs and PAs are best able to utilize these professionals to improve their bottom line, increase resident satisfaction, and remain in compliance. This session will explain the new regulations applicable to mid-level providers and analyze their impact on nursing homes from a clinical and compliance standpoint. The cost-effective role of Psych/Mental Health nurse practitioners will be explored.

Register for this conference here. The conference is September 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency Columbus and Greater Columbus Convention Center.
