Shawn Riley featured in News 5 Cleveland report on closure of fair-trade business

McDonald Hopkins' Shawn Riley was recently featured in a News 5 Cleveland newscast regarding the closure of a fair-trade business in Northeast Ohio.

Shawn is the founder of our Strategic Advisory and Restructuring Department.  Fair trade is a business model and global movement prioritizing people, the planet, and ethical sourcing over pure profit.

Shawn told reporter Nadeen Abusada that, unfortunately, closures are becoming more common among fair-trade shops.

“Perhaps shifting more of their business to online sales and direct-to-consumer sales, and this way they can cut down some of their overhead costs, and they ought to think about perhaps partnering with some of the big box stores,” he said in the interview.
