Overview

Edward “Ed” Grahovec is an Associate at McDonald Hopkins and part of the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. His practice focuses on incident notification, response, and breach coaching. This includes counseling clients through cyber incidents, assessing the legal implications of a breach, and managing various forensic and data mining teams to, ultimately, contain the breach to prevent further loss of sensitive business and personal information. Ed also counsels clients through regulatory investigations, communicating with state and federal regulators, including state Attorneys General, state Departments of Insurance, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Education, and the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Civil Rights.

Prior to the start of his legal career, Ed worked at a healthcare technology company where he gained knowledge of healthcare compliance and HIPAA-related privacy matters.

Ed earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, where he served as a staff writer for the DePaul Journal of Art, Technology & Intellectual Property Law. He earned his B.A. from the University of Dayton.
