Overview

Sarah is an Associate in McDonald Hopkins’ Litigation Department and a part of the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. Her practice focuses on incident response, pre-breach services, regulatory defense and compliance.

Prior to her time at McDonald Hopkins, Sarah advised clients regulated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including registered investment advisers, family offices, private funds and other financial professionals. She counseled clients on day-to-day regulatory compliance and SEC examinations, as well as privacy and cybersecurity obligations under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and Regulation S-P.

Sarah also drafted and advised on a range of compliance and risk-management materials, including data privacy and cybersecurity policies, incident response plans, AI governance policies, vendor agreements and breach notification procedures.

Earlier in her career, Sarah gained in-house experience at a hospital, where she assisted with matters involving HIPAA, telehealth and data transfers. She is also certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US).

Sarah received a Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Affairs with a minor in Arabic from the University of Cincinnati.
