Three McDonald Hopkins' members honored in Maryland's list of Super Lawyers and Rising Stars of 2024

Three McDonald Hopkins' members have made Maryland's 2024 Super Lawyers and Rising Stars' list.

Kathryn Hickey, has been selected as one of this year's Super Lawyers.

Kathryn is a Member in the Business Department at McDonald Hopkins and part of the Firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group. Her practice is focused on representing companies across a broad range of industries in various types of domestic and international transactions. She also represents companies and investors in venture capital and angel investment transactions with companies from a wide range of industries at various stages of growth. Her experience includes representing clients in the negotiation and implementation of institutional financing and commercial loan transactions with large institutional lenders. 

Spencer Pollock and David Shafer have been selected as Maryland's Rising Stars. Super Lawyers gives this honor to no more than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state.

Spencer is a Member of the national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity team at McDonald Hopkins with experience handling hundreds of cyber incidents and data breaches and an 85% win-rate as lead counsel on over 50 civil defense jury trial. He is a recognized leader in the data privacy and cybersecurity legal community and a frequent speaker and guest on numerous television and radio shows, and podcasts, and hosts the “Cyber Law Revolution” podcast. This is his fifth consecutive year on the list.

Dave is a Member in the Business Department at McDonald Hopkins and part of the Firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group. His practice is focused on counseling clients on mergers and acquisitions, purchase and sale of private businesses, commercial financing, private offerings of debt and equity securities, venture capital and private equity transactions, and general governance issues. Dave also regularly provides counsel to companies and investors in venture capital and angel investment transactions, from a wide range of industries at various stages of growth.
