McDonald Hopkins congratulates James Stief and Dean DePiero on selection to Crain's 2022 Notables in Law

CLEVELAND  - James Stief and Dean DePiero have been recognized among Crain's Cleveland's Notables in Law for 2022. 

Crain's Cleveland Business announced its selections in a special edition on February 28. Notables in Law recognizes senior-level professionals who stand out in the field of law and have practiced at least 10 years. They have shown the ability to affect change in their roles or practice areas and serve as role models who have assumed leadership positions in professional or civic organizations.

Stief is Chair of the McDonald Hopkins Business Law Department and serves on the firm's Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial finance, business planning and strategic analysis, raising capital, and general contract negotiation. He serves as legal counsel and a business advisor to a wide variety of commercial lending institutions, specialty lenders, subordinated debt lenders and middle-market companies.

DePiero has served as Of Counsel for McDonald Hopkins since 2005. He has a depth of experience working in state and local government as a lawyer and an elected official. Dean is currently the Law Director for the City of Aurora and Assistant Law Director/Prosecutor for Broadview Heights, Ohio.

DePiero is also a certified Mayor’s Court Magistrate in the state of Ohio and serves in this capacity for municipalities in Northeast Ohio.
