McDonald Hopkins is helping bring new life to the former Geauga Lake site
McDonald Hopkins is proud to have supported the City of Aurora in financing the initial phase of the redevelopment of the former Geauga Lake site, a project that will help transform a beloved community landmark for a new generation.
Amanda Gordon and Teresa Metcalf Beasley served as bond counsel to the City of Aurora in connection with the issuance of its Various Purpose Capital Improvement Bond to finance the first phase of the redevelopment, including infrastructure improvements such as underground utility installation, refurbishment of the former gateway pavilions and existing boat dock, and the creation of open lawn areas. They advised the City on the legality and tax status of the bonds and helped guide the transaction through a successful closing on March 5, 2026.
The redevelopment represents an exciting step forward for the former Geauga Lake property and its continued role in the Aurora community.
