McDonald Hopkins’ Litigation Finance Practice work highlighted in Law360
Recently, Law360 highlighted the law firms honored by the International Legal Finance Association (ILFA) at its annual awards gala in London. At the event, McDonald Hopkins was recognized as an Exceptional Legal Service Provider for Litigation Funders.
Marc Carmel, Chair of the firm’s Litigation Finance Practice, accepted the award on behalf of the firm and was featured in Law360’s ILFA Spotlight interview.
In the interview, Marc discussed his path to building McDonald Hopkins’ litigation finance practice, including his year spent as a director at a litigation funder before joining the firm in 2018. He explained that he was drawn to serving midmarket clients and found McDonald Hopkins receptive when he proposed launching a dedicated litigation finance practice alongside his restructuring work.
“It appeared there was a demand for legal services in the litigation finance space that outstripped the supply of lawyers with that expertise,” Marc told Law360.
He added, since its launch, our Litigation Finance Practice has grown organically and now includes six attorneys who devote a significant portion of their practice to litigation finance matters.
