McDonald Hopkins LLC welcomes four new associates to its Cleveland office

McDonald Hopkins welcomes four new associates to our Cleveland office: estate planning and probate attorney Megan Casselberry, litigation attorney Gabriella Dachtler, intellectual property attorney Abrahm Hill, and commercial finance attorney Shelby Strohl.

Megan Casselberry is an Associate in the firm's Estate Planning and Probate Practice Group. Megan's practice focuses on assisting clients in ensuring their objectives are accomplished by developing tax-efficient and cost-effective strategies for wealth transfer among spouses, family members, friends, or in support of charitable organizations.

"I truly enjoy helping client’s feel at peace by establishing an estate plan; guiding them through difficult conversations and times like estate administration by providing clear solutions," Megan said.

When a trust is part of a client's estate plan, she takes the time to develop personal relationships with her clients, becoming an advisor who can work with the trustee and investment advisors to assist with trust distribution.

"Building relationships with clients and maintaining them is so important; there are members in our group who have worked with three generations of a family, demonstrating trust in our legal abilities and the relationship developed," she noted.

Megan added she chose McDonald Hopkins for its reputation.

"They put a lot of emphasis on getting involved with the community and encourage employees to do the same. That is something that is important to me, having spent my whole life here in Cleveland.  Along with that, McDonald Hopkins is a collaborative environment, and the people here really make it a great place to work."

Gabriella Dachtler is an Associate in the firm's Business Litigation Practice Group. Her practice focuses on advising clients across various industries on commercial litigation and general litigation matters.

"I approach every client matter with a focus on understanding the bigger picture. Litigation isn't just about the legal issues, it's about protecting what my clients have built and helping them move forward with confidence," said Gabriella. "I make it a priority to communicate clearly, respond promptly, and break down complex legal concepts into actionable insights."

She added that her goal is to be a trusted partner who not only advocates effectively in the courtroom but also helps clients make informed business decisions along the way.

As part of the firm's commercial litigation team, Gabriella works with clients to develop solutions and safeguards against claims on the front end; however, when litigation assistance is needed, she collaborates with a deep bench of attorneys to defend a client's business.

A previous McDonald Hopkins' Summer Associate, Gabriella knew McDonald Hopkins was her destination firm of choice to grow her legal prowess.

"McDonald Hopkins stood out to me because of its genuine commitment to collaboration and client service. I was struck by how approachable and invested everyone was, not just in their work, but in mentoring associates and fostering a supportive team environment. The firm's strong regional presence combined with sophisticated commercial litigation work offers exactly the type of practice I was looking for. I wanted to be somewhere I could grow alongside a team that values both excellence and a healthy work culture, and McDonald Hopkins checked every box."

Abrahm Hill is an Associate in McDonald Hopkins’ Intellectual Property Department. His practice encompasses all aspects of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and emerging technologies.

"I love intellectual property law because it gives me the privilege to work with new ideas and emerging technologies. Each invention finds a creative solution to an existing problem. The opportunity to help inventors protect their innovations and build upon prior advancements is what ultimately drew me to the field."

Abrahm also previously served as a Summer Associate at McDonald Hopkins.

"McDonald Hopkins' culture aligns with my work style of teamwork, pragmatism, and innovation. I was also drawn to the firm’s strong commitment to developing young lawyers and its reputation as one of the largest and fastest-growing intellectual property departments in Ohio," said Abrahm.

Shelby Strohl is an Associate in the Business Department at McDonald Hopkins, where she focuses her practice on commercial finance. She, too, was a previous Summer Associate at the firm.

”Since my first on-campus interview for the Summer Associate position, I have consistently felt that the colleagues at McDonald Hopkins are genuinely invested in my professional development and long-term success, both at the firm and in my legal career," she said.

She works alongside a deep bench of attorneys to represent both borrowers and lenders in sophisticated, high-value transactions, working closely with clients to navigate the complexities of today’s financial landscape.

"I enjoy adapting my skills that I’ve learned through working in personal finance and lending to meet the complexities of commercial lending. I also enjoy the collaboration that’s required between borrowers, lenders, and each side’s respective counsel," said Shelby.
