McDonald Hopkins welcomes Data Privacy and Cybersecurity attorney Elizabeth Carroll
McDonald Hopkins is proud to welcome attorney Elizabeth Carroll to its national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice. Elizabeth focuses her practice on incident response and is prepared to lead clients through stressful and uncertain moments with clarity and strategic guidance.
Elizabeth said McDonald Hopkins is her destination firm of choice to expand her practice.
“The incident response team is one of the most experienced in the country and has a reputation for excellence in managing complex client matters in an evolving practice area. McDonald Hopkins stood out as a team of confident, capable practitioners, dedicated to client service,” she noted.
Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, Elizabeth worked in data privacy and cybersecurity at a national litigation firm, where she advised clients on breach response and kept them informed of state and federal compliance developments. She collaborates closely with individuals, insurance carriers, businesses, and regulators, and supports clients with crisis communication during breach events. Elizabeth approaches her work with empathy and understands that cybersecurity incidents can be stressful and unfamiliar. She listens carefully, addresses concerns, and guides clients through each step in a clear, manageable way.
“I am excited to work with a team that is both highly experienced and innovative. Everyone I have met has emphasized how closely the group works together, and I am looking forward to contributing to that dynamic while working with attorneys who are true leaders in the space,” Elizabeth said. “Being part of a group that anticipates trends, adapts quickly, and helps shape best practices is exactly the environment I want as I build my career.”
Jim Giszczak, co-chair of McDonald Hopkins’ Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice, said Elizabeth’s addition reflects the continued growth of the team and the new talent that strengthens the group.
“Elizabeth is a natural fit for our group. We look forward to seeing her talents flourish here and are confident she will make a meaningful impact on our clients and practice,” he said.
She earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from Ithaca College.
