McDonald Hopkins is proud to announce the addition of Gregory Watkins to the firm. Greg is a Member in the Business Department and the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group, where he advises clients on complex business transactions and day-to-day operations.

“McDonald Hopkins has a strong nationwide M&A presence, and it’s a privilege to work with accomplished colleagues on an everyday basis. The firm’s abundance of resources allows me to continue providing exemplary legal services for my clients while also scaling my own practice,” he said.

Greg’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, financings, corporate restructurings, and governance matters. He represents both sell-side and buy-side clients across a range of industries, with a particular niche in advising financial advisory and wealth management firms on internal succession planning, as well as external acquisitions and sales. Known for his client-focused approach, Greg emphasizes transparency and guidance throughout the transaction process.

“I prioritize making sure clients understand and feel comfortable with every stage of the transaction process, especially sell-side clients navigating it for the first time, so they can move forward with confidence and feel good about the outcome,” said Greg.

He also works closely with businesses at every stage of growth, providing practical guidance on entity formation, structuring, contract negotiation, and strategic planning. In addition, he serves as a trusted outside advisor to companies across industries, counseling on operational, commercial, and compliance matters.

“Greg is a fantastic addition to our M&A team,” said Christal Contini, the Chair of McDonald Hopkins’ Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group. “He brings a strong transactional background and a unique depth of experience in the financial advisory and wealth management sector. He’ll be a great asset to the firm and our clients.”

He received his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio University.
