McDonald Hopkins welcomes real estate attorney David Seitaj
McDonald Hopkins is pleased to welcome attorney David Seitaj as an Associate in the Business Department and as a part of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group.
David said McDonald Hopkins was his destination firm because of both the culture and client work.
“McDonald Hopkins’ strong middle-market platform and business-oriented approach align well with my values and make it an ideal place to grow my practice,” he said. “I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside such talented and dedicated attorneys.”
David’s practice focuses on transactional and complex commercial deals.
He has experience representing buyers, sellers, lenders, and borrowers in a wide range of healthcare and real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of healthcare facilities and portfolios, as well as secured financing. His experience spans the full deal lifecycle, from due diligence and drafting and negotiating transaction documents to closing and post-closing matters.
His investment in his client's business is shaped by his previous experience as Corporate Counsel for a construction company specializing in residential developments and large-scale commercial remodeling. The position built a strong foundation for his real estate and corporate work, including navigating restructuring, entity formation, leasing, and internal matters.
“I come from an entrepreneurial family, so I naturally approach client work with a more personal mindset. I try to treat each deal as if it were my own, focusing on the client’s business objectives, prioritizing practical solutions, and acting as a partner in getting the deal done,” he added.
Jason Smith, chair of McDonald Hopkins’ Real Estate Practice Group, said that entrepreneurial mindset makes David a great fit for McDonald Hopkins.
“David adds valuable depth to our growing Real Estate Practice Group, and I know he has a bright future here. I’m looking forward to seeing it unfold,” he said.
David earned his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in marketing and psychology from Roosevelt University.
