Overview

Jared Brown is an Associate in the Litigation Department at McDonald Hopkins and part of the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. He is experienced in guiding clients through all stages of litigation, from initial discovery to trials and settlements, with a focus on data privacy and cybersecurity claims in state and federal courts and complex commercial litigation matters, including business torts, breach of contract consumer protection. In addition to his litigation practice, Jared focuses on advising companies in a wide variety of industries on addressing data privacy and cybersecurity incidents. This includes identifying, managing and mitigating compliance risks for clients associated with the reporting of consumers’ personally identifiable information, credit history and employment data.

Jared previously worked for the Indiana Supreme Court, providing technical guidance and training to law enforcement and clerk and court employees on the statewide information technology system. This including identifying and advising on best practices related to the handling of confidential information within criminal and civil matters and the transmission of records in compliance with state and federal statutes.

Jared earned his J.D. from Indiana University McKinney School of Law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and legal studies, with a minor in intelligence and homeland security, from The Citadel - The Military College of South Carolina.
