Overview
Deana Alegi is an Associate in the Litigation Department at McDonald Hopkins and part of the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. She is accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States (CIPP/US), the gold standard in information privacy. Deana is also an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, where she served as a KnowledgeNet Young Privacy Professional. Deana's practice focuses on incident response and advising clients on best practices for preventing and responding to data privacy and cybersecurity issues.
Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, she served as a shared law clerk in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. Her legal background also includes internships with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Universal Creative, and Raymond James Financial.
Deana earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law, where she served on the Stetson Business Law Review and received the Outstanding Editor Award. During her time at Stetson, she was also a teaching assistant in Real Property and a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society and the Middle Eastern and North African Law Student Association. Deana earned her Bachelor of Arts in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida. She is also bilingual, speaking both English and Arabic.
