McDonald Hopkins welcomes Sarah Sears to the Litigation Department
McDonald Hopkins is pleased to announce the addition of Sarah Sears as an Associate in the Litigation Department, where she will focus her practice on complex commercial disputes.
Sarah brings to the firm a strong background in litigation, with experience that spans the full spectrum of dispute resolution, from pre-litigation counseling through trial. She has represented clients in matters involving commercial contract disputes, defective products, shareholder disputes, and other high-stakes litigation. Her skillset includes drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, and coverage opinions; managing both electronic and traditional discovery; and negotiating resolutions that align with her clients’ business objectives.
Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, Sarah practiced at both regional and national law firms. She played a significant role on litigation teams handling insurance recovery matters ranging from modest disputes to multimillion-dollar cases. Among her notable accomplishments, Sarah was a member of the trial team that secured a $30 million jury verdict in a commercial contract and breach of warranty case before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
“We are excited to welcome Sarah to our growing litigation team,” said Mike Latiff, Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department. “Her trial experience and dedication to achieving practical results for clients make her a valuable addition to the firm.”
Sarah earned her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law. She also holds a master’s degree from Kent State University and a bachelor’s degree from Miami University.
